EMMA KALLMAN

One of my heroes, my Grandfather, Thomas Paul Methratta, was born in Kerala, India and moved to the United States when he was around 25 years old.  Many years later, My Grandfather returned to India with my Mother when she was a young adult.  In the summer of 2017, my Mother decided to take me, my sisters, and my dad there as well -- continuing the tradition.  I was in a foreign country, full of many cultures and religions, and an overall different way of life.  Yet, I couldn't ignore the feeling that I was home.
